Looking for help with certified translations?

If you need translations for legal or formal purposes, we are here for you. Certified translations can be a bit of a complicated process, which is why we are here to advise you every step of the way. Our team of certified translators are here to quite literally put their mark on your documents to ensure they are ready for whatever purpose you need.

When is the right time for a certified translation?

Knowing when to order a regular translation vs. when to order a certified translation can be a bit daunting. Although there is no set rule, a certified translation is your best bet if your documents are going to government bodies, being used for something legal, or have another very formal purpose.

What is the difference between a certified translation and a standard one?

While all of our translations are done by our amazing team of professional translators, the certified translators are certified by their local competent institutions. When they translate your documents, they use their professional stamp to verify that the translation was an official one, and add a translator´s clause to the document, too, as a legal requirement. Process-wise everything is pretty similar, though.

What do you have to do before ordering a certified translation?

Just to make things that bit more complicated, each country has their own different set of rules so we would thoroughly recommend checking before you order just to make sure you get what you need.

Also, you might consider getting a notarized copy of the documents you plan to translate. A certified translation in many countries means to pierce the original document and physically tie it to the translation. So once a certified translation is done, it cannot be undone – your original document could never stand alone again.

And if you are not sure, how about giving us a call? We will be happy to point you to the right direction.

Certified translators are court-appointed at a national level, which can potentially mean a lack of options for you if the needed language is not listed in your country.
